And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22

There was a time I would have never considered the Bible a book about me; from the human characters mentioned to the named valleys, cities, animals and trees.

As far as I knew the Bible was a book of historical events. Events that has become the foundation of every debate. We argue the validity of the written text; were the first human being was placed; the conception and birth of Jesus; and, the inconsistencies within.

There were so many things I couldn’t wrap the mind around. For instance:

— If Jesus died for our sins why was there a need for hell?

— Why was Jesus coming back and how would I know it was him?

— If God IS forgiving and merciful why would God get angry or become jealous?

— If God is supposed to be perfect then why wipe out mankind with a flood with Noah and his companions the only humans left alone on the planet?

— Bringing me to question incest… Again.

(I first questioned this with thoughts of Adam and Eve)

— If God IS all there was where did satan come from?

— Why give us the freedom to choose, speak and move then get mad when we do?

— Why is there suffering at all?

These are just a few questions I had. All of which went unanswered.

It wasn’t until I began to study Science of Mind and consciousness did everything make sense. And not just biblically speaking but also with regards to life, love and existence; enabling me to become receptive to the teachings of the Bible.

“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16 – 17

Since relearning the scriptures within the sacred text my life has been nothing short amazing. Now I (as spirit) have my own personal manual as a guide within this physical realm. Allowing me to be able to trust in what I cannot see — Like God.

I hadn’t realized that I lacked trust in God. I didn’t trust God would do for me as I had believed It did for others. In other words, God was not dependable, reliable or constant. In fact the way I understood God to be was the exact opposite.

Boy did I have God all wrong!

Knowing what I know now, there is no one or no thing I’d rather place my trust into. I trust in the process. I trust in Its function. I trust God desires for me what I desire for myself.
