Journaling and Reflections — Politics and Authenticity

Today comes with mixed feelings. On one hand I am happy the election is finally over and done with. On the second hand, I am disheartened to see so many individuals still content and comfortable in the conditions they have the power to change.

Many states such as Chicago, California and Maryland, despite the needs of the people remaining unmet, Democrats still managed to get their votes. Now don’t get me wrong, New York City’s mayor has a no f*cks given for his constituents and yet, like mindless zombies voted him back into office. The difference is NYC is way better off than the aforementioned states.

I never followed the election of President Trump and Hillary, so I was not exposed to the coverage by the mainstream media and YouTube vloggers. But I can definitely see how the reports can be misleading their viewers. This is not to say this is an act of malice but more so a thing of who’s watching what.

Dr. Myles Monroe was spot on when he stated airwaves are the most powerful form of receiving messages. This is due to the repetitiveness of what’s being broadcasted. The same message or type of message is subtlety being downloaded into our subconscious mind until it becomes our truth. This is why I must remain diligent in being mindful what my primary exposure is. This goes for music, reading material and television shows (luckily for me I don’t have access to mainstream t.v. by choice).

While I am selective of what I watch, since the election of President Trump, I had became interested in knowing what the news media was spewing to get people I knew (or at least thought I knew) in an uproar. The mere mention of our President’s name sent them into an unrecognizable frenzy. To me it was mind blowing. UNTIL…I saw what they were watching and were being told. And because they accepted the first lie as their truth, getting them to accept other untruths was easy.

The seed had already been planted and ‘tending‘ to the crop of crap told was easy. The only thing left to do was to fertilize the beliefs with more 💩 in hopes that it grows into a solid truth.

Don’t dare get it twisted, this statement is directed at affiliates of either side of the politics spectrum. Which brings me to where I am today.

One thing I can say is that whenever I would see the left leaning party behaving in a bullish manner, the first thought that would come to mind is, “For a party who is supposed to represent tolerance is behaving the complete opposite…INTOLERABLE”.

Now here is where it gets a bit challenging for me. When I was entertaining those thoughts, I didn’t have to exercise tolerance over a decision made by “the people” because Trump was already in office by then. The outcome for me was desirable. But now?! I couldn’t have been any more disappointed at the poll results.

So now I must BECOME the practicer of what I had preached prior to the results of yesterday’s election and literally exercise tolerance myself.

This means I cannot complain about who won or even why they won. Because with my preaching tolerance I also expressed how we must follow the Bible’s instructions of Romans 13, where we are directed to:

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.  For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

To be quite honest, just reading the above verses gave me a deep sense of reprieve for myself and hope our nation. Safety is no longer a concern as I remembered the Biblical teachings and the principle of the Law of Attraction for the individual conscious being. I just have to keep my nose where it doesn’t belong…in politics. 😆
