EASTER – Celebrated in the Rabbit’s Hole

rabbit-holes

For as long as I can remember, I’ve witnessed—year after year—folks getting up every Easter morning to attend church for ‘Easter Sunday’ to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. But instead of the services being a celebration, it seemed to me to be more of a fashion show. I can almost (99.99999%) guarantee that one can go into a Christian church and find themselves surrounded by big, colorful hats with either bows or flowers adorning them. Folks in the pew with new church attire purchased just for that day. Many who don’t regularly attend services can be found sitting in the pew because of either guilt or under duress.

Just so that it is understood, I am by no means judging or criticizing. I’m only sharing my past experiences with what I’ve witnessed and encountered during this time of year; and, to also show just how misunderstood the symbolism of Easter is.

For many of you out there, Easter is widely celebrated in honor of the resurrection of Christ, after his crucifixion on the cross. Unfortunately, many church leaders are oblivious to the true meaning of resurrection, and unknowing mislead their congregation to believe only Christ can be resurrected, resurrection only occurred once, and we have to wait until He decides to return from wherever he is and take us to this magical, mysterious location called ‘Heaven’. Hearing this I’ve often wondered a few things:

  1. If we have to wait for Christ’s return, what happens to me after I died in the meantime?

  2. If God was an unchanging God who is always forgiven, what did I need saving from?

  3. And most importantly, what was Jesus doing while we waited?

As one can imagine, those questions were never answered by anyone I’ve come across. Thankfully, all was not lost because I DID eventually find my answers…and more!

I know how frustrating it can be to want to find a way to connect to something greater than the self but are unable to because the thing that’s Greater seems a bit bipolar. I’m sure you’d agree with me when I say it’s almost impossible to put all of one’s trust into something/someone that appears unsteady. However, when your search is for a God/Creator that does not have any human qualities (anger, hypocrisy, hate, judgment, and grudgeful) but instead qualities of Love, trust in such a Being comes with ease.

And THIS is the God/Creator I want to introduce you to!

But before I continue, I would like to first introduce you to the metaphysical meaning of a few important words  found in the Bible to allow for a deeper understanding of which I am attempting to convey.

Words to Know:

Adam: represents the first movement of mind in its contact with life and substance.

Ascension: the ascending or progressive unfoldment of man, from the animal to the spiritual.

Cross: a state of consciousness representing the ‘mortal mind’ or ‘carnal mind’. The cross is not to be seen or believed to be a burden or some type of hardship, but a symbolism of the forces in man (consciousness) adjusted in its True relation to Divine Mind.

Crown: highest state or quality of consciousness.

Crucifixion: the crossing out of consciousness of errors that have become fixed states of mind. It is the surrendering or death of the entire personality so that the Christ Mind/Christ Consciousness may be expressed in all its fullness.

Dead: this represents those who are unconscious of Truth.

Easter: the awakening and raising to spiritual consciousness of the ‘I AM’ in man, which has been dead in trespasses and sins and buried in the tomb of reality.

Eve: Love or feeling in individual consciousness. Feeling is Spirit which quickens.

Garden of Eden: a pleasant, harmonious, productive state of consciousness in which all are possibilities of growth.

Resurrection: the restoring of the mind and body to their original and underlying state.

Serpent: this is sense consciousness in the form of desire, sensation and all activities of life in an external expression apart from the Source of life.

Sin: to miss the mark.

Tree of Knowledge/Life: represent the discerning capacity of mind.

Truth: Spirit of–God’s thought projecting into our mind; ideas that will build spiritual consciousness like that of Jesus.

In order to demonstrate the cycle of birth to resurrection we’ll take a look at Adam’s ascension (mortal mind) to Christ (Divine mind).

It should be reiterated that the Bible is not to be taken as literal historic events but to be read allegorically. In other words, the people, places and events written within the context of the Bible represents ideas in one’s own mind and not actual events.

It is well known that Adam can be found in the Book of Genesis, God created the heavens (Divine Mind/Christ Consciousness) and the earth (awareness of the physical body); and during that time, man came to be whose name is Adam.  Adam is a great representation of a newborn baby when all is well. Like a newborn, Adam state of consciousness is in a state of just being. It is not until we grow and develop (along with the aid of our environment) are we introduced to the Eve consciousness, where feelings are formed. The serpent (feelings, desires and that which is not of Divine Mind) begins to control our very existence if we are not conscious of it. We will go throughout our allotted moments fulfilling desires that are damaging to the soul-being.

Outside of the Garden of Eden, we experience all kinds of discord. We fear; worry about later; partake in the rat-race; and ‘knows’ sickness, death and cruelty. We are so far removed from God/Source Energy we can’t find the ability to even trust in the Creator Itself. There’s an unconscious tendency to deem man greater than God, which causes us to look towards man to fulfill our desires. We become a slave to the system. Instead of looking towards God for guidance, we turn to man (mother, father, siblings, distant relatives, friends, mates, etc.) for approval. We depend on others to be the provider of our needs, both emotional and physical.

But the Bible directs us differently. Matthew 6:25-26 states:

25 “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

26 “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into the barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?”

When you are able to surrender all trust in God and move about without worry, concern, anxiety or doubt about the next moment to come, you will develop Christ Consciousness and experience Divine Mind personally. You will FEEL God’s Love. You will APPRECIATE the knowing of being one of the chosen one’s to grow and prosper. You will rejoice in knowing YOU ARE GOD APPEARING AS YOU!!

You begin your death on the cross as the crucifixion process commences, after which, you will have your crown placed.

This phase in consciousness is Jesus. It is man with absolute belief in God’s Laws, Words and Promises; unwavering, unapologetically and openly.

When you no longer identify with the physical self, realizing that all is God and God is the only thing that has ever been and will ever be, you will enter the tomb (an elevated, peaceful state of consciousness) prior to resurrecting. In the tomb you are resting with God as you are gathering strength for the power of greater demonstrations to follow.  This simply implies that you must now walk your Truth. No longer are you able to say one thing as you are doing another. As you’ve often done in the past. Your connection with God/Source Energy is deeply rooted in a state of knowing.

But in order to be resurrected, you must first seek God. This means you must do what you’ve probably have been prohibit from doing—and that’s—question God’s existence, purpose and presence.

Another verse in Matthews 6:33-34 solidifies this by saying:

33But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness {His way of doing and being right-the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. 34 So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.

When you are able to first seek God’s existence, purpose and function, believe in God’s Laws, Words and Promises, you too, will have been resurrected and Easter will have a whole new meaning and possibly another way for you to celebrate your rebirth into Spirit!

Be sure to subscribe so that you will be able to receive the Law/Word of God to live a prosperous, abundant and purposeful life!

Namaste.

The God in me recognizes the God in you!
